Christmas
Ashlyn's first Christmas went very well. On Christmas Eve day we spent it over at her Grandparents house. On Christmas Eve we went to church. Ashlyn enjoyed the service very much. She slept the whole time. She did seem to enjoy the singing. At one point during the service she even put her hands together like she was praying. It was very cute! After church we came home and ate and watched the football game. We had a great day together as a family.
On Christmas Day we woke up bright and early. Ashlyn was very excited to see the presents that Santa had left her. We opened gifts and Ashlyn got very spoiled of course! Later on in the day we had a nice Christmas dinner. Ashlyn got a little overwhelmed by everything going on. She was a little bit cranky. She still is a little colicky and has her good days and her bad days. All and all I would say that her first Christmas was wonderful. On Christmas day night I went to a movie with my sister. Ashlyn stayed home with her Dad and Uncle. Ashlyn slept on her Uncle Adam's chest for several hours. It was so cute to see such a big guy with such a small girl. Ashlyn got to meet her Uncle Adam for the first time this week and she loved him!
On Saturday Ashlyn and I are heading to Arizona. We will be going to a wedding (Jacob and Maya's). We will also get to see my Grandmother. I can't wait for her to meet Ashlyn. I am a little scared because we are driving and Ashlyn will be in the car for twelve hours. The car seat usually puts her right to sleep and she does not seem to mind it. However, she has never had to spend twelve hours in it! We are going to try to drive it all in one day, but we will stop for the night if she gets too restless. I am excited to take her on her first vacation. I know Arizona is not too warm right now but it will be much warmer than the below zero temperatures we have right now! Well I have lots to do to get ready for our trip. Packing all the things a baby needs is not an easy task! I will update the blog with new pictures when we get next weekend! Happy New Year to all!

Look how big she is getting!
6 Weeks
Ashlyn will be six weeks old tomorrow!!! She is growing up so fast! She is getting bigger everyday. I attempted to weigh her at home and I think she weighs around 10 pounds. She gained about a pound and a half in two weeks! She is starting to smile more and more everyday. It just melts my heart every time she does it. Her colic and reflux were getting better and then in the last two days it seems to be worse again. She is also going through a phase were she does not like to be put down. She is my little cuddle bug. She is still only sleeping two hours at a time at night. I know she should be sleeping for longer stretches but I guess she did not get that memo. I hope she starts soon because her mom would love to get a little bit more sleep. Sometimes she will go four hours which is wonderful! Ashlyn went to see Santa today. She wore her Christmas dress and looked adorable. She did not even cry. I would post a picture but we do not have a scanner. Sorry I have not been posting as much. With the move things have been more than hectic. I hope things begin to calm down some and I can post more often. Happy holidays to all!

Ashlyn the State Trooper
Ashlyn's Grandpa brought her a State Patrol onesie. It is just the cutest thing. He was down here last week and he was in uniform. We figured it would be the perfect opportunity to get a picture of both of them wearing their state patrol gear.
Her hair was doing something crazy in this one.

Finally some new pictures!
Ashlyn at one month
One Month
Ashlyn will be one month tomorrow! I cant believe how fast time has gone by! It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing her home. We took Ashlyn to her one month check-up today. She was seen by the doctor that I saw when I was a kid. He even remembered my Mom and I. She now weighs eight and a half pounds! She has gained a whole pound in a month. She is in the 50th percentile for both height and weight. The doctor thinks her eyes will end up being brown. Joey and I were hoping for blue. He also said that she has reflux and colic. That probably explains while she is so fussy at night. He said there is medication we can try for the reflux, but he does not feel she has it that badly. So, we are going to try not to go the medication route if we can. As for the colic there is basically nothing we can do :( We just have to wait for her to outgrow it. He said most babies outgrow it by two months. I hope things do get better. It is the worst feeling when your baby is crying and there is nothing you can do as a mother to make it better. She did sleep for 4 hours last night! I hope she keeps up with that because I could get used to some longer stretches of sleep! She is still a very sweet girl and we are loving her more and more each day!!! She is starting to smile in her sleep and her doctor said she should start smiling soon which I can't wait for. Sorry I have not updated as frequently as I would have hoped. We are very busy right now and this colic has thrown us for a bit of a loop!
