She did it!!!

I am at my parents house again tonight. Ashyln has taken about ten steps!!! It is the cutest thing in the world. I can not believe my baby is already taking her first steps! Walking is so close. I am so glas I finally got to see it.

Can't Believe I Forgot!

I was in a little bit of a hurry this morning when I blogged. I totally forgot to mention something really important. On Friday, Ashlyn and I were over at my parents house. I was not looking, but my Mom said Ashlyn took 2 steps of her own!!! I am so mad I missed it. We could not get her to do it again. Maybe she will this week. Just had to share.

More Zoo fun

Last Monday, Joey, Ashlyn, and I headed to the zoo. We had a great time. The zoo was not crowded at all and the weather was perfect. It was not too hot or too cold. We had a great time looking at all of the animals. We even took the new sky lift thing that takes you to the top of the zoo. It is a great view! At the top there was a little playground that Ashlyn got to play on. We finished our day at the zoo with a nice picnic lunch. After the zoo, we headed to get our old time pictures done. They turned out great! Ashlyn seemed to have so much fun getting dressed up with Mommy and Daddy. What a great family day we had!

The rest of the week was pretty normal. Ashlyn has been standing by herself for a few seconds at a time. She has fallen head over heels for cantaloupe. The girl can't get enough of it. Whenever she eats something she really likes, she has started to smack her lips. It's really funny. She continues to get into every thing! When I tell her no, she just laughs at me. Oh well, let's hope she starts to get it soon.

Today we are going to a new water park. It is supposed to be a lot of fun for kids. I think Ashlyn will really enjoy it. Hopefully I will get some pictures.

One Step Closer

This week Ashlyn's Gram bought her a walker. It is a stroller that she can even put her doll in. She loves it! She has so much fun pushing it around the house. She is really fast with it. The only problem is she gets stuck on furniture. I think this will help her walking skills. If she keeps this up she should be walking soon. (Although I am not sure if I am ready for that).

The weather here has been very rainy and drizzly this weekend. It has forced us to be pretty home bound. It is unfortunate, because there was a lot of outdoor things going on this weekend that I wanted to check out. Joey works next Saturday, so he has Monday off. The weather is supposed to be a lot nicer tomorrow. We plan on taking full advantage of it. We are planning the zoo for the morning, then a picnic lunch at a park, and maybe getting our Old Time picture taken. Should be a fun day!

There she goes. She is so fast!

Her first experience with Spaghetti O's. She loved them, but what a mess!!!

Clean up was not easy!

9 Months

Ashyln turned 9 months on Wednesday. This birthday was very hard because it means she has been alive for as long as she was growing inside of me. We went to her 9 month appointment on Friday. The appointment went really well. She now weighs 16 lbs and 10 ounces. That puts her in the 10-25% for weight. She is 27 3/4 inches tall. That puts her in the 50th percentile for height. She is growing just like she should. Her doctor said she looked great. He kept asking us if we had any questions or concerns. We just could not think of anything because she is moving right along so well. He said he thinks she will be walking soon because she seems advanced. Of course Mom loved hearing that one! She had to get one shot and have her blood taken. She did not like that one single bit. Mom and Dad gave her some extra cuddles and she was fine. She also got a sticker for being such a good girl.

Ashlyn has changed so much in 9 months. She is just doing so much these days. She still loves to hold on to furniture and walk around it. She is really practicing her walking skills. Just today she has started to stand on her own without holding on for a few seconds. Just one step closer to walking. She can crawl really fast and it amazes me how quick she can get across a room. We put a gate up at the bottom of the stairs. One day Joey ran upstairs and forgot to shut it all the way. By the time he got downstairs, she was already halfway up the stairs. That girl can move!

She loves to explore the world around her. She still hardly touches any of her toys. She enjoys crawling around the living room and seeing what she can find. She is entertaining herself with the camera case as we speak.

She is talking a lot. She says Mama and Dada pretty regularly. She babbles like crazy and always has something to say. It is the cutest thing. I think words are going to be coming soon.

Ashlyn loves animals. Her new best friend is Alli. She loves playing with her. She is always laughing when Alli is around. Alli is such a sweet and gentle dog. She just lays there while Ashlyn pets her and pulls on her. Ashlyn also loves the cat, but she is a lot less tolerant.

Ashlyn continues to eat like a champ. She does not eat any baby food anymore. She is pretty much only eating table food. We love giving her new foods and seeing what she thinks of them. So far, she has liked everything. I try to feed her as healthy as possible. We buy lots of organic things. It is sometimes challenging to think of easy and healthy things to feed her. She would eat what we were having, but with Joey working nights, my dinner is often not that great.

Tomorrow, we are going to get her 9 month pictures taken. We bought some adorable outfits that she should look great in. I will try to scan them at my parents house so I can post them here.

Ashlyn gets to go on another trip in September. She gets to go to the beach for the first time. I can't wait to see what she thinks. She also gets to go to Disneyland. I think she is just going to love it!

Grandparents House

I did not blog last week. It was mainly due to the fact that Ashlyn was gone for most of the week. Ashlyn's Grandpa had several days off of work. He asked if Ashlyn could stay with them for a few days. Ashlyn was at her Grandparents from Monday until Thursday. It was pretty hard for me to be away from her for that long. I managed to get by. I tried to enjoy my alone time and do somethings that I often don't get to. Ashlyn had a great time. Her Grandparents said she was a very good girl. She slept well and hardly cried at all. They had planned on going swimming, but the weather was not the best. I think they spent a lot of time in doors. I can't believe what a big girl Ashlyn is and is not going on her own "vacations". Her are some pictures from her visit.
