Thanksgiving 2010

As usual, we had a great Thanksgiving. Since I was 30 weeks pregnant, Joey and I decided that we just couldn't do the drive out to Buena Vista this year :( Instead, we had Thanksgiving with my family. We had a great day spent with family and great food. We have so much to be thankful for this year. Our family is well and has everything we need. We are especially grateful for our newest addition coming soon!

Ashlyn is such a little helper. She likes to help me all the time. She really, really likes to help cook. I think she will take after her dad and Papa DeLorme and be a great cook one day. She was such a help this year. Here are some pictures of her in action.

Getting ready to make the green bean casserole. Her shirt says "Everyone is Thankful for Me". Soooo true!

Cheesy girl!

She looks like a pro.

She was having so much fun.

Helping me do the potatoes. Yum!

The Rockettes

Last Wednesday, we got to do something extra special. We went and saw The Rockettes! My Mom and sister had seen them perform last year at Radio City in New York City. They were just wowed with their performance. As soon as my Mom found out they were coming here, she bought tickets. She got us great seats too! We got to sit in the second row. We were so close to the stage. It was a wonderful performance. It's something that everyone should see at least once in their lives. Ashlyn really enjoyed the show. She got a little antsy towards the end, but for the most part she loved it! Her favorite part was when they shot "snow" on our section. They shot out paper confetti that looked like snow. They shot out a TON of it. We were covered in white confetti. She just thought it was the neatest thing ever. She was having a blast catching it. We had a great night out with the girls. It was a great way to kick off our holiday weekend. It definitely got me in the Christmas spirit!

A quick picture in front of their poster.

In our seats before the show started.

I did my best to take pictures, but I just had the small camera and they didn't allow a flash. This was a part when they rode around in a bus. The bus actually turned and moved. It brought back great memories for me, because we rode a very similar bus on our tours of NYC this summer.

This was a great dance with tons of Santas. Ashlyn loved it!

They had such elaborate costumes.

Growing Babies

Ashlyn went in for her 3 year appointment today. I wasn't able to go this year :( I have to save every vacation day I have for maternity leave. It made me very sad because I have gone to every other appointment. Luckily, Joey's work schedule allowed for him to take her. He said that the doctor said she looked great. Ashlyn has been so healthy lately, that I don't think she has been to the doctor since her two-year checkup. They weighed and measured her. As usual, she is my tall, skinny girl. At age 3 she only weighs 29 pounds. She is still in the 20th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. She's such a tiny little girl. Joey said that she thought she was a princess when she put on her exam gown. She was singing songs for her pediatrician which I guess he got a great kick out of.

In baby news, I am officially 29 weeks today. I am now in my third trimester and am feeling it. I still feel pretty good, but I am just so tired. Teaching full time is really wearing me down. If all goes as planned, I will be done at Christmas Break. I think it will be an easier transition for my class to leave then opposed to a random day in January. I'm getting closer and am now seeing an end in sight. I'm going to really miss my class, but I'm also very excited to be at home with my children.

I went to the doctor last week and she said things looked great. My only concern is that the baby was breech when we got our 3d ultrasound. Ashlyn was never breech, so I'm freaking out at the thought of a c-section. My doctor assured me that 90% of babies flip in time. I'm just so worried that he won't. I pray he does what he needs to do! We are continuing to get things ready for his arrival. With Ashlyn I was totally ready for her by this point. I have a lot more to keep me busy now, so I feel like I still have so much to do. It's going to get hectic with the holidays coming. We have so much going on.

In name news, Joey and I think we may have it narrowed down to two names. We both have a name we really like. So, we will see who wins. We are waiting until he's born to make the final decision. We've also decided to keep it a secret from everyone until he comes. Even Ashlyn doesn't know. I've decided it's a lot of fun to not tell anyone. Especially since I don't have to hear any opinions.

3 year pictures

This Saturday we went and took Ashlyn 3 year old pictures. She took a nap right before we arrived and she was very unhappy that she had to take pictures. It was a very difficult session. I am going to remind myself next time to take her early in the morning.

Baby Brother Pics

Here are some 3D pictures from our most recent ultra sound on 11/10/10 of baby brother.

He has hair, hopefully as much as Ashlyn did.

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

Ashlyn watches the Sprout channel in the mornings. Parents can send in birthday cards and they pick some to air on tv. This is the card that Joey made for Ashlyn and sent in.

Sadly, we recorded the Sprout channel all day, and they didn't read Ashlyn's on the air. However, they did put it on their website.

Joey took off the day before Ashlyn's birthday so they could spend it together. They went and saw this movie. I don't think it was one of her favorites, because she fell asleep an hour into it. Which is very rare for Ashyln to do!

Ashlyn's party decorations. This year because we have so much going on, I opted to have a very small party for Ashlyn at our house. I just wasn't up for dealing with a big ordeal. Joey of course is like Clark Griswold and won't stand for anything to be small scale. I think we compromised somewhere in the middle.

This is the cake Katy and I made for Ashlyn. It wasn't our best work, but she loved it. I took her to the store several weeks ago and told her she could pick any kind of birthday to have. She picked Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I am very adamant on making her cake each year. When I started to research Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cakes, I realized they were pretty intense cakes. We tried our best.

This is the sign we hang each year for Ashlyn.

Ashlyn's grandparents decided to start making it a tradition to get her a balloon bouquet each year. She LOVED it!

A co-worker of Joey's has a small bounce house that he brought over for the kids to jump on. Ashlyn of course was in heaven!

We decided to do a pinata this year. What fun!

It took her a few hits to really get the hang of it.
Ashlyn's friend Kaitlyn trying to break it.

Ashlyn finally whacked it hard enough! Time to get the candy!

Ashlyn was so excited to eat her cake. Just before, my brother whipped out this hat he bought her to wear. It was too cute!

Listening to everybody sing to her. She had the biggest smile on her face like she does every year.
Mommy helping her to blow out the candles.

Time to eat cake! Yum!
Present time!!!

Another view of the bounce house. It was a beautiful day for her party. We really got lucky!

Ashlyn really had a great party. We kept asking her if she had a good time and she said "Yes!". It was sad, when I started to take down all of the party decorations, Ashlyn came in and said, "Where did my party go?" She said it in the saddest little voice. She kept saying she wanted her party back. Next year Ashlyn, next year.
