Mother's Day and other random pictures

This year we did something a little different for Mother's Day.  We decided to have a Mother's Day tea the day before.  My mom hosted it at her house and it was so much fun!  We drank special tea, ate mini sandwiches and had special desserts.  My mom went all out and we all agreed it was just as good as any tea we had been to before.  It was definitely extra special.  The girls had such fun and we decided it definitely needs to become a yearly tradition.
On Mother's Day, I started my day with breakfast in bed.  The kids each brought me the gifts that they made me at school.  So thoughtful and meaningful!  After breakfast, my sister and I got to go shopping without kids which is such a wonderful treat for us!  We had such a nice time getting to take our time and actually look at things.  We ended our girl time with massages.  It was the perfect day!
I also included some random pictures we have taken lately.

Gracie can be a very ornery little girl.  I have to watch her like a hawk because she gets into a lot of stuff and trouble if I don't.  Last week, I was at gymnastics with Ashlyn.  Joey text me this picture and said she had gotten into something but he had no clue what it was.  When we got home, we discovered she found a bottle of her sister's nail polish and went to town painting away.  She has since been banned from her sister's room.

Monkey kids!!! These kids love playing in the backyard.

We recently went to the carnival at Ashlyn's school.  We were babysitting that night, so Ella and Jameson came along.  The kids had such a fun time playing all the different games.  They also got some cool face painting done.

Gracie recently got her first haircut.  I have been putting it off for a very long time because I just loved how long her hair was for such a young girl.  It had become very uneven and she really needed a trim.  She was such a good girl and sat as still as a doll the entire time.  I could not believe how good she did.  The stylist informed me she had a tail in her hair.  I told her that she has had that tail since birth.  Her hair looks great now that it is all even.

Such a good girl!

Such a fashionable little girl

Ashlyn got some fake glasses that she likes to wear too.  Stylish girls

Colorado museum

In April, Ashlyn had a random day off from school in the middle of the week.  We decided it would be the perfect day to go to the History Colorado museum up in Denver.  Since every school district in Denver had school that day, we practically had the place to ourselves.  It was such a nice day!  I won't go into many more details because I have blogged about this museum several times before.  As usual, the kids had a great time at the very interactive museum.  I think they even learned quite a bit which always makes me happy.  Here are our pictures from the day.

Easter

Dawson's letter to the Easter Bunny

Easter this year was another great one.  We came back Friday evening from Arizona, and Easter was Sunday.  Since we were gone for more than a week, we didn't get around to doing dyeing eggs this year.  The kids didn't seem to mind too much at all.
On Saturday night, the kids wrote notes to the Easter Bunny and went to bed very excited to see what treats awaited them the next morning.  The were up bright and early to check out their baskets.  As usual, the Easter Bunny left great baskets full of their favorite things.  After they checked out their baskets, it was off to gather eggs.  He always hides them throughout the entire house.  Gracie really got into it this year and they all had so much fun!
After the morning Easter festivities, we went down to my grandma's house for Easter dinner.  She always out does herself with an incredible spread of wonderful food.  We all had a good time stuffing ourselves silly.
The rest of the day was spent as a family enjoying such an incredible holiday.
