Over Memorial Day weekend, we did what is now becoming an annual family tradition, and went to the drive-in. We discovered the drive-in last year through a co-worker of Joey's. They have gone every Memorial Day weekend for years. We went with his family and loved it. We were very excited to go back again this year with Joey's coworker. Ashyln was very excited again to watch some movies in the car. So, we loaded the car up with blankets and yummy snacks and headed out. We went and saw "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Thor". (I had no desire at all to watch Thor, so I slept through the second movie). Dawson did a wonderful job. He just sat and looked around while we waited for the movies to start. Once they started, he ate and then slept the entire time. It was very bittersweet for me because last year at this exact time I was just finding out that I was pregnant, and now I have a wonderful son.
We had such a great night. Joey and I never can get over how much fun the drive-in really is. Now with a young baby, it allows us to go to movies without having to get a babysitter. We have already been planning on seeing more movies there this summer. They always show the newest movies and you pay less for two movies than you do for one at a normal theater! I can't wait and I know Ashlyn can't either!
We had a great Memorial Day weekend full of fireworks, drive-in, parks, grilling, and lots of family time. It is so nice having Joey home for 3 days instead of just two.
