While we were in Arizona last week, Dawson turned 14 months old. It is becoming more and more evident each day that he truly is ALL boy. He just loves everything boys typically love. It really confirms to me that some things are just inate in children. He got a little toy car and he played with that thing for an hour in his car seat on the way down to Arizona. He also makes little "car" noises while he is playing with it. At the park, we also discovered that he loves dirt. He had a great time playing in it and I even caught him sampling some. There was some mud at the park, and I had to literally pull him away. He wanted to play in it so badly. He just loves running around and exploring. He continues to climb onto everything. His new favorite game is "Up Down". I say, "Up" and he stands up. I say, "Down", and he stands down. He is starting to say the words up and down while he does it. He gets the biggest kick out of this game. His little grin just melts my heart every time!
While we were in Arizona, Dawson got very cranky. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. He was just not happy all of a sudden. I finally felt around in his mouth, and discovered he was getting his first molar. Ashlyn was always the world's best teether. I never even knew she had a tooth coming in because she was so unfazed by it. Unfortunately, Dawson is not the same way. Poor thing was cranky and he also had a fever. The timing was not ideal since we were on vacation. However, we gave him some Tylenol and it seemed to help. The molar finally came through and he is back to his happy self again.
I can't believe Dawson has only been our lives for 14 short months. He continues to bring so much joy to our lives. His personality emerges more and more all the time. He is very sweet and loving. He does have a little temper when he doesn't get what he wants. God truly blessed me when he put Dawson in my life. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God for blessing me with such a perfect little boy!
As usual, I took some pictures on the day he turned 14 months.
He is such a happy little boy. He is always smiling. |
