Short Update

I thought I would give a little update with what we have been up to lately since I have not been doing well on keeping up with the blog.
We are in the midst of planning Ashlyn's big 5th party!  I can not believe that I will soon have a five-year-old.  Ashlyn is beyond excited to be turning five.  This is the first year that she gets to have a birthday party and invite her classmates.  We have been busy working on invitations.  She has picked to have an Ariel themed birthday again.  She even picked out a very special crown to wear.  This is definitely the most excited she has ever been for a birthday!
Today I took Dawson to a Pediatric G.I. doctor.  As I had mentioned before, I had some concerns about Dawson and his lack of weight gain.  His pediatrician referred us to a G.I. doctor.  The doctor today felt that he most likely has an allergy to dairy.  He shows a lot of the symptoms and it would make sense since he was so sensitive to it as a baby.  The doctor is having him do a dairy free diet for two weeks.  He wants to see if we notice any changes.  We will go back in a few weeks to discuss things.  Since I had to do a dairy free diet when I was nursing Dawson, I know exactly how restrictive it can be.  I know it will be quite a challenge, but I am willing to give it a shot if it means Dawson will feel better.  Luckily, his favorite food is fruit and that is definitely dairy free.
My foot continues to be injured.  I am still totally unsure as to what is wrong with it.  I have not gone to the doctor because I was really hoping it would heal on it's own.  I gave my foot complete rest for two weeks.  The first week I couldn't even walk on it.  Last week, I was able to walk on it.  I had my big race on Saturday.  I had to run in this race in order to keep my position in the series.  I didn't even want to try to run before the race to keep my foot fresh and in the best shape.  Luckily, it was only a 5k.  The course was a cross country course, so not the best with an injured foot, but I was thrilled that I was able to run the entire thing.  It was definitely one of my worst times in a very long time, but the course was tough, I hadn't ran in two weeks, and I was injured.  I was very happy that I ran it in time to maintain 3rd place.  The series is now done, and I got 3rd place overall for all the females for 5 races.  I am very proud of that one! My massage therapist made a special house call today to look at my foot.  She thinks its from the way my foot strikes when I run.  She did a few adjustments and gave me some things to try. It does feel a bit better.  I'm going to try them, and if not my sister knows of an amazing foot doctor.
Joey has been working very long hours at work.  I feel so bad for him because I know he must be so tired.  I know his very long commute makes it even worse.  Our house is still for sale, and we are really hoping it sells soon so he won't have such a long day.  He still is an amazing father and husband and does so much for us in the very little time he is home.  He always reads Dawson his stories and lays with Ashlyn every night.
Here are some very random pictures to go with such a random posting!
