Halloween 2012

We had quite the group of kids this year for Trick or Treating.  This was our first year with 4 kids, and did we have fun!  My sister is always stuck working on Halloween.  This year, she finally managed to get it off.  She actually got to go Trick or Treating with us. Ashlyn started the night by going to her costume parade at school while I was still at work.  Joey got off work early so he could take her.  She had a great time with her classmates.
We then met at my sister's house.  We continued our yearly Halloween tradition of eating a pumpkin shaped pizza.  The pizza is easy and the kids always seem to like it.  Ashyln was beyond excited to start Trick or Treating.  After their bellies were full of pizza, we got them into their costumes.  Ashlyn decided that she wanted to be Ariel.  She was Ariel when she was two, and she decided that she wanted to be Ariel again.  That was fine with us.  Dawson continued with his monkey theme, and was a little monkey.  I must admit he made the cutest monkey I have ever seen.  Ella was an adorable zebra with lots of pink, and Jameson was a giraffe.  We had a princess and adorable animals in our group.
We started when it was still very light out and were able to stop at a lot of houses.  Ella and Dawson immediately discovered what Trick or Treating entailed and got very into it right away.  They had such a good time running from house to house.  We brought along the wagon, but they wanted to walk themselves.  My sister's neighborhood is always perfect for Trick or Treating.  The weather was gorgeous and the night could not have been more pleasant.  We stayed out until it got dark and began to get a little cooler.  My sister, Ella, Dawson, Jameson, and I headed back to her house.  Ashlyn in the pursuit of more candy, went back out with her Dad and Uncle Bryan.  She came home with quite the candy haul.
After everyone had returned, the kids changed into their adorable Halloween pajamas and Ashlyn got hot chocolate.  Dawson never gets sweets or chocolate, so he was besides himself when he actually got a piece of candy.  We figured we had to give them something for all of their hard work.  We wanted to stay and really look at all the candy, but the next day was a work and school day and we all had to be up bright and early.  Dawson and Ashlyn had no trouble falling asleep that night and I am sure their dreams contained a lot of candy and sweet memories.  I love the traditions we have carried on each Halloween since Ashlyn was a baby.  I hope we get to continue them for many years.

Here was our pizza

My new favorite picture in the entire world!

All of my heart is in this wagon! I love them all so much! We even got them all to look at the camera.  This is a rarity!!!

Ashlyn got tired of the wig rather quickly. A lot of people in my sister's neighborhood go all out decorating their houses. I love it!

Ella did the cutest thing.  After Ashlyn got up, she wanted to lay on the couch with all of her candy.  Ella always wants to do whatever Ashlyn does.  She looks up to her so much.

Our attempt at a picture of the kids in their Halloween pajamas.  They were pretty tired at this point.
