Dawson being 2

I can't stress enough how blessed I am to be the mother of such amazing children.  I love them so much and each day I am amazed at how incredible they both are.  Dawson is our sweet little boy.  Joey and I laugh all the time because he is such a boy.  He loves anything that has to do with boys trucks, trains, super heroes, etc.  We have a lot of girl stuff laying around and he never touches any of it.  He is always pushing a car or his trains around.  He has his Thomas the Trains that he got for his birthday.  He now will not go in the car or to bed without a few of his trains.  He has also started doing fighting moves which is really cute.  We are perplexed where he picked these moves up from, but they are pretty funny.
Dawson is such polite little boy.  If you give him something, he will say "thank you" without even being prompted.  He also says, "No thank you" if he doesn't want something.  I love how good his manners are for a two year old.
Dawson is learning each and every day.  He already knows a lot of his letters.  We are amazed at how well he can identify them.  We are still working on colors, numbers, and other basic skills.  He loves to be read to and is favorite books are the ones about trains and trucks.  He insists on picking at his books each night.  He always wants just one more book.
Dawson is such a joy to be around.  He loves his Ella and his sister.  He has a blast running around and laughing with them.  He brings so much joy to all that are around him.  He is genuinely an wonderful little boy.
I so look forward to watching him grow and develop while I continue to cherish each and every second.

Here are some pictures from his actual birthday.

As a very special treat, Dawson got to start his special day with a doughnut.

Birthday breakfasts are the best!

Handsome boy!

On Dawson's actual birthday, we wanted to do something special and fun.  We decided to go to the House of Bounce. We have been there once before in November.  There is so much to bounce on and do and the kids loved it.  It didn't disappoint again!  We all had a great time.  The best part is that parents are allowed to jump too, so I think my sister and I had just as much fun as the kids did.  It was a perfect way to celebrate a birthday!

Best buds in the whole world!

For Dawson's birthday dinner, we made him all his favorite foods which consisted of macaroni and cheese, fruit, and yogurt.

We had to end the day with a special birthday cupcake.

Yum!!!

Dawson's 2nd Birthday

Today, Dawson turns two years old!  My how time is flying by.  To celebrate, we had a little party for him on Sunday.  We have a lot going on right now with our big trip to Disney World coming up.  I didn't want to stress myself out even further with a huge party with lots of guests.  I still wanted to make it super special for him, but we decided to keep it to family only.  It turned out great.
Dawson has become OBSESSED with trains.  They are his favorite things in the world.  He loves the show "Thomas the Train" and is constantly asking us to watch it.  I was going to do a cars themed party, but decided at the last minute to do a train party instead.  I found lots of cute ideas and made most of the decorations myself.  I was very pleased with the way it turned out. While Dawson was napping, we decorated the house.  When he came downstairs the look on his face was priceless.  He kept saying "Choo choo!"  It was cute.
He had a great birthday party surrounded by those who love him most and all of his favorite people.

Playing with his train set while waiting on guests to arrive.  I bought him a special train conductor hat, but he refused to wear it for very long.
The kids table that Ashlyn set up for the kids.
This was one of my favorite parts of the party.  I decided to make nachos for the party.  We had a "nacho train" of toppings.  It was a hit! Everyone loves nachos and the topping train was so fun.

I found this huge plastic wall decoration at the party store.  Dawson absolutely loved it!!!

Ashlyn drew her brother a picture for his birthday.  Its Dawson, Ashlyn, Ella, and Alli.
The cake I made.  Not my more elaborate or best work, but it was simple and he loved it.

How cute are they?

My parents got him this roller coaster.  It takes up half the living room, but he loves it and all three kids took turns riding it.  I think the adults has just as much fun watching them.
