She has started to do a bunch of new stuff this month. She seems to be advanced like Ashlyn was. She waves really well to say "hi". She has started to help dress herself. She can put her arms through her shirt when I get her dressed. She continues to babble like crazy and has started to say "mama". This melts my heart each time she says it. She is so mobile and getting so good at moving. She pulls up on everything and is scooting around furniture. She has also started to move from the coffee table to the couch,etc. I think walking will be soon. At dinner tonight, she started to clap. This age and stage is so incredible because they change so much and are able to do new things all the time. It's so amazing to witness.
Gracie has started to enjoy food a lot more. She went through a stage where she wasn't showing much interest. That has definitely changed. She prefers food that she can feed herself. She eats a lot of baby puffs and yogurt melts. She still likes homemade purees, but doesn't eat them real consistently. One of her favorite foods is meat. That girl inhales meat. She loves ham and turkey the most. She literally gobbles it up. I discovered today that she also likes smoothies. I make Ashlyn and Dawson a smoothie each afternoon for a snack. Today she wanted to try a sip and I didn't think she would be able to use the straw, but she sucked it right up and loved it. Another fun part of this age is watching them try new foods. I plan on introducing more dairy this month like yogurt and cheese.
Gracie has gotten better with sleeping. She is still not where a lot of other babies are at this point, but I do see improvements. Her day sleep is excellent. She takes her first nap about 90 minutes after she wakes up and it usually lasts for one hour and fifteen minutes. She takes her second nap every day around 1:00 and that nap lasts about 2 hours. She goes to bed around 7:00 every night. I now put her to bed when she is still awake and she has gotten quite good at falling asleep by herself. She has been having a lot of good nights where she only wakes up one time. It can vary from 2-5 a.m. I feed her and she goes right back to sleep. She wakes up every morning around 6:30. I am praying for more good nights where she only wakes up once. I know she will eventually drop that last night feeding. At this point I figure she must still need it.
Graceyn is still out little toothless girl. Dawson got his first tooth really early on. Ashlyn was around 8 months I think. I am convinced at least once a week that she is getting a tooth, but I have yet to see one pop up. She has been drooling buckets for months on end.
Gracie Likes: putting everything in her mouth, chewing on paper (I'm convinced she is part goat and I have to keep a very close eye on her because if paper is anywhere near her, she will get it.), swimming, splashing in the bath, being held by mama, kisses, sleeping on her tummy, feeding herself, practicing with her sippy cup , and playing the piano
Gracie Dislikes: getting dressed or changed, being put in the car seat, having things taken away from her
She continues to be our sunshine and we love her to the moon and back!!!
