Dawson's Birthday

My sweet boy recently turned 6 years old!!!  Where has the time gone?  He is growing up way too fast and I hate it.  I wish he could stay this age forever because he truly is an amazing child.  He has such a very special place in my heart and I truly love and cherish every moment I spend with him.
Dawson is a very active boy and is always running around playing some different game.  He has an incredible imagination.  The games he comes up with always amaze me.  He continues to love Mario the most.  He hates wearing clothes around the house, so he is frequently running around with his Mario visor on in his underwear with a fake hammer tucked in.  It always makes me laugh.  It is quite a site and I would post a picture, but I don't want to embarrass him forever.
Dawson is an extremely bright little boy.  I know I am very bias, but he is very intelligent.  He is an incredible reader.  He can read words that amaze me.  I have a hard time finding books for him to read at home that interest him and are hard enough for him.  He just flies through books and rarely stumbles on any words.  He is such a fluent reader for being only 6 years old.  He is also very good at math and building things.  Like I have mentioned, the things he is able to build out of Legos with no pictures or directions is incredible.  He is doing really well in kindergarten and I know that boy is definitely going places one day.  I am so proud of how hard he works and how well he is doing in school.
Dawson loves kindergarten and is so excited to go every day.  He has made so many friends and loves the social part of school.  Dawson and Ella are in the same class, so it is always fun to hear the stories they have about each other at school.  His very best friend will always be Jameson and they love being together.  They recently got Nintendo Wii U's for Christmas and those boys love playing Mario video games together.
Dawson is not only smart, creative, and social, but he is such a sweet and caring boy.  He is a total mama's boy and always gives me the best hugs and kisses.  He will often write me the sweetest little love notes that melt my heart.
It is always near impossible for me to adequately describe the kids on the blog.  I am not a very good writer, and I can't come up with the words to describe such dynamic and special kids.  Dawson is the best son in the entire world and God definitely blessed us with such a wonderful son.

Since Dawson and Ella are in the same class and their birthdays are only three weeks apart, we decided to through a combined party for them.  They wanted to have it a local bounce house place.  We invited the entire class and almost all of them came.  It was a little crazy having so many wild kindergartners running around, but all the kids had such a good time.  Those kids jumped their little hearts at.  When it was time for cake and ice cream, they came up and ate a bunch of cake and drink a ton of juice, then went right back to jumping again.  We didn't even open presents at the party because they just wanted to jump.  It was a great party and Ella and Dawson said it was perfect.

Ella was very nice and agreed to have a Mario theme

Dawson was very lucky this year to have his birthday fall on a Sunday.  We let him pick what he wanted to do on his special day.  It was his day and he planned a very fun day.  We started the morning with a birthday visit from our elf, Eddie Buddy.  Dawson was excited to see him although it hadn't been too long since he was last hear.  I made Dawson some special birthday donuts and the kids devoured them.  They all decided that my birthday donuts need be the start to all their birthdays from here on out.  Done!

Birthday breakfast
After breakfast, Dawson wanted to go to the gym to go swimming.  I didn't get any pictures, but we had a great time swimming.  The kids love to swim at the gym, we just don't often get a chance to go enough.
After a quick lunch, we headed out to Dawson's next choice: bowling.  We have never really taken the kids bowling before and they were excited to go.  The bowling alley near our house is really neat.  They have bumpers for kids and it was even cosmic bowling while we were there.  They turned the lights off and played fun music.  It was the perfect celebration for Dawson's big day.  He was very happy that he got the highest score.

For Dawson's birthday dinner, he chose to have pizza.  My family came over for pizza, cake, and presents.  I had made a banana cake a few weeks prior, and his cake was a banana cake.  It was really good and Dawson had a great night.  He got lots of great gifts.
