I never blogged about it, simply because it was way too painful to talk about. Our very beloved dog Alli, passed away in October of 2015. She was the best dog in the world and she left a huge pet hole in all of our hearts. We wanted to wait a bit to get a new dog since we knew we were selling our house and things were going to be a bit chaotic.
We knew that we wanted to get another boxer because they are so amazing with kids. Joey did a lot of research and found an excellent breeder. We were waiting on a particular litter, but when a girl became available for adoption in January, we decided it was time to finally get a dog.
The breeder lived very far away and we surprised Ashlyn and Dawson by letting them take the day off from school to go pick up the newest member of our family. They were beyond excited to get to go along.
As soon as we laid eyes on our precious new dog, we were all in love. Her name is Ruby Sue and she is the sweetest most precious dog ever. She is definitely a puppy which we have not had for many, many years. I had forgotten how much constant attention they require. She is a lot of fun and the kids love playing with her. I can't wait to train her to go on runs with me. She is definitely a keeper.

The breeder lived in the middle of nowhere, and at one point we came upon cows just standing in the middle of the road |

Pretty, but very desolate |

I love that face |

Gracie is Ruby's biggest fan. She is so cute with her and refers to her as her "puffy". Whenever she comes home, she runs in the door and says, "Where is my puffy?" It is so darn cute. |

Joey recently went to his dad's house and introduced Ruby to the horses |

My sister's boxer passed away this fall. They adopted from the same breeder, and their dog Magnus is a little bit older. Ruby and Magnus have the same father, but different mothers. They love playing with one another and do a great job of wearing each other out. |

She is a great dog for Joey to bring to work with him |
