Dawson's Birthday

So, we blinked and Dawson turned 9 years old!  I can't believe he is 9 years old already.  He is my special son and I am so blessed that God blessed us with a son with all these girls.  I am a little bias, but he is honestly the best son a mother could ask for.  He simply has the coolest personality ever.  He is so laid back and easy going.  His sisters can be a wee bit dramatic at times, and Dawson never is.  He is also so well behaved.  If we ask him to do something, he just does it.  He never talks back or gives us attitude.  He makes being his parents very easy.
Dawson is all boy.  His current new favorite thing is Nerf guns.  He has some pretty epic battles with Jameson and our neighbor Collin.  I swear I find Nerf bullets everywhere!!!  He enjoys sports and plays basketball and soccer.  He is a huge Nuggets fan and loves watching the games with Joey and I.  Every night after Gracie and Emmy go to bed, he comes and cuddles on the couch with me and we watch t.v.  It is one of my favorite parts of my entire day.  He is such a sweet boy.  He is also very, very smart.  He does really well in school and math is definitely his strongest subject.  He really excels in math.
As always, it's really difficult to describe a child in a few words on a blog. Suffice to say, we are so lucky he is ours and we love him so very much.
We made Dawson's birthday as special as possible even though he had to go to school that day.  When we woke up, we saw that the elf had come and left the Lego cake and some candy.  I brought Dawson lunch at school that day and ate lunch with him.  His request was a double cheeseburger from McDonald's.  After school, we went to dinner at Red Robin.  Dawson requested Red Robin because he likes playing the games at the table and he also likes they sing to you.  He wanted to be sung to, but he acted very embarrassed when they came out to sing to him.  After dinner, we went back home for cake and presents.  Dawson requested that I make him another ice cream cake.  He chose his favorite ice cream flavor: butterfinger.  He was showered with lots of presents from family.  He had his heart set on this very expensive Nerf gun, and I decided to get it for him.  He said he had a great birthday.
