Great Wolf Lodge

The kids had a four day weekend for school. Some friends of ours asked if we wanted to join them for a night at Great Wolf Lodge. We haven't been in awhile, so Joey and I decided it was time to go again. The day they went was a day I had to work, so I wasn't able to join them until later in the evening. Joey surprised the kids by picking them up from school. They were super excited to get out of school early and to be going to GWL.

When they got there, they immediately went to the water park and did some serious swimming! Emmy had an absolute blast from what Joey said. She went down the waterslides over and over again. The older kids were old enough to run around and do their own thing. I picked up dinner, and met everyone around dinner time. After we ate, the kids went swimming a little more before the waterpark closed. The kids did the ropes course and played some Magic quest.

Around bed time, Joey took Emmy home with him for the night. She sleeps so badly in hotels, and we live so close, we figured it would be best for the two of them to sleep at home. I took Gracie and Dawson to story time and to a dance party. It was a late night, but such a fun night!

The plan was for Joey and Emmy to come back first thing in the morning, and I would head out to get ready for work. Joey called me that morning and said Emmy had a very hoarse voice and was acting a little tired. I think she took in too much chlorine! We decided it was best for them to stay home. Luckily, our friends Chad and Stacey, said we could leave Gracie, Dawson and Ashlyn with them for the day. The kids had an absolute blast and they didn't come home until 5:30!

Even though I wasn't there for most of it, and Emmy missed the second day, I still think it was a great staycation and just what we all needed!
