I just realized how long it has been since I last blogged. I thought I would blog more frequently when I was not working, but it has been the complete opposite! Things have just been so busy around here. Our house has been a whirlwind of remodeling chaos!!! Joey has finally finished installing our new floors. They required a lot of blood, sweat, and tears on his part. He did finally make it through and they look wonderful! I am so proud of all his hard work. The same day that he hardwood floors were finished, our basement was also done. We have been working on finishing our basement since March. Joey and I finally got to the point where we wanted to be done with it. Our goal was to have it done Friday for our 3rd of July party. All of the contractors miraculously fell into place and Joey and I spent MANY late nights down there painting and getting things done. We just absolutely love it!!! It has given us so much more room. It turned out just great. I will take some pictures and post them soon so everyone can see it.
We had our annual 3rd of July party on Friday. We wanted to do it on the 4th, but the Sky Sox were not playing on the 4th and there were no fireworks. We had a great turnout this year. I would say there were easily 40+ people here. Luckily, we had the basement for people to also hangout in. It rained for 30 minutes or so, but all in the all the weather was nice. Ashlyn had a great time playing with some of the kids that came. It was really cute! Ashlyn did not make it to the fireworks that night that didn't go off until 10:45!!!! She did see her first fireworks the next night in Buena Vista. She loved them! She was clapping and reaching out and trying to touch them. I honestly thought they would scare her. The Sky Sox are having fireworks 5 more times this season. Ashlyn never gets to see them because they go off way past her bedtime. Joey and I decided that since she liked them so much, we would let her stay up extra late those nights. I will get some pictures.
My goal is to post more pictures this week. We don't have a whole lot planned. I want to do more short posts with pictures instead of a long weekly one. We are planning on going to the North Pole on Thursday. Ashlyn should really like it. Although, I am hoping she has gotten over her fear of Santa!
In her 4th of July dress waiting for the guests to arrive.
