Halloween

This Halloween was awesome!  Since it fell on a Thursday, I had to work and the kids had school/daycare.  Both Dawson and Ashlyn got to wear their costumes to school which they were very excited about.  Ashlyn had a class party in the afternoon.  Since I was at work, I wasn't able to make it.  However, Joey volunteered to help out and he said she had a great time.  They decorated cookies, danced, played bingo, and acted silly.
I had a doctor's appointment after school, so Joey picked up Dawson and headed over to my sister's house where I later met them.  We always go trick or treating in her neighborhood.  A lot of the houses decorate really neatly and they always have good candy.  Before we headed out, we had our yearly tradition of a pumpkin pizza. The kids always get a kick out of it and it's a perfect quick dinner to have before heading out for trick or treating fun.
We have really, really lucked out the last few Halloweens with beautiful weather.  We weren't so lucky this year.  It was pretty cold out.  The wind was blowing pretty hard and it was making it pretty cold.  We decided to head out and see how long the kids tolerated the cold.
Last year, Ella and Dawson had a good time as they were just starting to understand the concept of Halloween.  This year, was even better!  They were beyond excited to go trick or treating and they definitely understood what it meant. Dawson was running from house to house.  At each house, after he got candy, he would exclaim, "Daddy, Mommy I got candy!"  It was too cute.  He would also declare, "Next house" and start making his way to the next house.  He was always the first one to the door.  They had so much fun collecting candy.  We had a great time watching their joy and excitement.  It brought me back to Halloweens when I was young.  It was such a nice time.  It started to get dark and even colder.  We decided to head back to Katy's house.  Joey and Ashlyn decided to stay out a little longer and get a little more candy.
Before we knew it, it was late and everyone was worn out from such a long day filled with lots of fun.  We headed home and everyone feel asleep very quickly that night!

Our pumpkin pizza before it went in the oven.

Our best attempt of a picture of all four kids.
