Last St. Patrick's Day 5k, I was 9 months pregnant and ready to for a baby any day. I can't believe it has already been a year. Last year, I was a spectator, and this year I got to run it again. This race is always a favorite of mine and it's always a fun time. It will always be extra special to me because it was the first 5k I ever ran. I've come a long way since the first time I ran it!
This time is was even a little more special. I am now officially a sponsored runner!!! I am being sponsored by Chick Fil A. Its an amazing opportunity for me and I am so excited about it. I will probably be running a lot more races this year. They will pay my entry for almost any race I want to do. For this race, we were part of a cooperate team. This meant there were five of us who had to wear costumes. I have never ran in a costume before, it was a little different. They take the top 4 runners times. My team came in first place which was awesome. My time was not my best time for this race, but I know it will be a process to get back to where I was before I was pregnant. I am just happy I get to run in races again. I'm going to continue with my training and get wait to see what this year holds with running.
Joey and the kids came to cheer my brother and I on. As soon as I ran the race, I found them and we left. We then hit the road to start our trip to Arizona. I wish I could've stuck around longer after the race, but I was excited to begin our trip!
