Ashlyn had her final cross country meet two weeks ago. It was the big end of the season meet, so there were at least 5 schools there. It was on a Saturday morning and Ashlyn had quite the cheering section. Her aunt and uncle and cousins came to watch her run. Her course was long and well over a mile. The fact that she can run the entire thing is impressive to me. Ashlyn gave it her all and she did wonderful. She was the 3rd 2nd grade girl in her race. There was a lot of competition!
It is always so bittersweet to to see the end of cross country. I so enjoy getting to run and talk with Ashlyn Monday and Friday mornings. We don't get a lot of time just the two of us and it is such a nice time. Ashlyn really worked hard this year and all of her training and dedication definitely paid off. We are so very proud of our girl. I am trying to talk her into doing a 5k with me on Thanksgiving. I would love to go on some runs with her this spring and summer. As long as she enjoys it, I would love to see her continue to run.
