We were up bright and early again the next morning. We knew the only way to avoid some of the crowds was to get there first thing in the morning. We got there before it was too crowded and we knew we wanted to head straight to Splash Mountain. We walked right on Splash Mountain and rode several times in a row. After Splash Mountain, we rode a bunch of other rides like Pirates, The Haunted Mansion, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Dawson had a very special moment that day. We discovered earlier in the week that his very best friend from school was going to be at Disneyland the same day as us. We were able to meet up with he and his family that day. Dawson was beside himself to see his best friend at Disneyland.
We took some breaks throughout the day to eat beignets and drink mint juleps in Orleans Square. We also had some amazing fried chicken for lunch. Just as the day before, as the day wore on it got pretty crowded. We tried to take full advantage of fast passes and used them as much as we could. The only other bummer for the day was how many of the rides that were broken down. We don't seem to run into this problem as much in Disney World. At one point, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Indiana Jones were all down. When they do open up again, the lines become horrendous because everyone is using there fast passes at once. I was so excited for Joey to finally get to ride Indiana Jones. It was down most of the afternoon, and when it was working again the fast pass line was unreal, so he had to skip it. We still managed to ride a decent amount of rides, even though it felt like we stood in a lot of lines. The kids had a great time and they agreed that most of the Disneyland versions of rides are better than the Disney World versions. It was a very fun filled day and we all thoroughly enjoyed Disneyland. We had originally wanted to stay until they closed at 11:00, but the lines for rides were just too long and we were all beat!

Getting ready to board Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I think they were refurbishing this ride last time we were in Disneyworld so the kids didn't get to ride it. They all loved it this time and rode it several times. It's a perfect roller coaster for younger kids. |
