I typed up this post and had meant to post it a month ago, and I could never get it to post to blogger, and then it got deleted. So, this post is really late and will be shorter than intended because I don't feel like typing the whole thing up again.
A week before school started, we took our annual end of summer trip with my mom, sister, and all the kids. We try to mix it up every year, but this year we decided to go back to Denver. There is just so much to do in Denver and we always have such a fun time.
We began the trip on Monday morning at the Museum of Nature and Science. They have a really neat puzzle exhibit there right now and the kids really had fun exploring. The only downside was that it was pretty busy, so we couldn't really enjoy all the hands on stuff. We stayed for a few hours and decided to move on to our next adventure.

After a quick lunch, we headed to our next stop: the Omni hotel near Boulder. My sister picked this hotel because it was supposed to be great for kids. They had an awesome pool and that is pretty much all the kids wanted to do. As soon as we checked in, the kids suited up and we headed down to the pool. They swam until a big storm came in and they had to take a rain break. The rain blew over, and they swam some more before it was time to get ready for dinner. We drove to a nearby Italian restaurant for dinner. Upon arriving to dinner, I realized my van had a completely flat tire. There was a huge nail in it. We managed to get it back to the hotel, but my mom and I spent a portion of the evening trying to deal with the tire. An amazing employee volunteered to change it for us! What a lifesaver! After the tire problem was fixed, the kids swam a bit more that night. We forced the kids to all go to bed and we were all out by 9:30 that night!

The next morning, we were up bright and early to check out and head to our next adventure. We dropped Katy off at the Bronco's Training Camp, and my mom and I took all the kids to Boondocks. It's a funplex that features all arcade games, bowling, go karts, laser tag, etc. We picked to go this day because they offer half off fun packages. We realized when we arrived before they opened and there was already a line out the door, that it was going to be busy. It was absolutely packed, but the kids had a great time playing all sorts of games. We left and grabbed lunch, then headed back for some more play time. It finally got so busy, that we left and headed to our next hotel.

Our next stop was in Littleton. We got a special suite that featured two bedrooms with a living type room in the middle. The kids LOVED it and thought the room was the coolest. The kids wanted to hit the pool again, which is what we did. They had such a fun time swimming, that we didn't even leave the hotel for dinner like we planned. We ate some food there and my mom and I went and got ice cream for a special treat that night. We swam until pretty late again that night. We did a ton of swimming! We woke up early the next morning and ate breakfast. After breakfast, we went back to the pool for more swimming. After swimming, we headed back to the room to shower and pack up. It was time to head home. What a fun couple of days we had! It was the perfect way to end summer!
