Here are some more pictures from our extended stay at the cabin. The kids spent a lot of time playing in the river like they always do.
We went on another really long ride. We were going to go to Mary Murphy Mine. We didn't end up making it all the way to the top. We did make it to another high altitude lake. The trail up was pretty scary and my sister and I got out and walked several times. The lake at the top was gorgeous and we were the only ones up there which was pretty neat.
More time was spent playing in the river. Ashlyn even got a decent sized rainbow trout.
We spent a lot of evenings around the fire. There was a fire ban up there, so we used the propane fire pit. The kids love playing this Blockbuster movie game where you are given a topic and each team takes turns naming movies with that topic. We played this every night.
The Leone's had never been to the fish hatchery before. We drove down there to feed the fish. They all loved it. I love that the fish hatchery is so close and it's free!
On the day we went home, we went to Salida first. We ate at our favorite pizza place first. We took the kids to the toy store like we always do and let them each pick out a toy. The toy store owner seemed extra appreciative for our business this year. We ended our trip with ice cream before heading home. It was a great trip!
