Mother's Day 2011

I had an amazing Mother's Day this year. It was great as my first Mother's Day as a mother of two!!! Twice the love and twice the children to cherish and enjoy.

Ashlyn came in my room first thing and gave me the card she made at school. Luckily, my mom picked her up from school the day she took the card home, so I was truly surprised. I guess she has been beyond excited to give me this card. She has been constantly talking about it when I'm not around. I was amazed she managed to not tell me. The card was so cute, but what was even cuter was how proud Ashlyn was of the card. I told her I wanted to put it on my nightstand so I could always look at it. She told me, "I think that's a great idea Mom!" I also got a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They are so pretty. I loved my gifts and didn't want anything else. I told Joey the camera he bought me last year for Mother's Day could count as my gift for the next five years!

This year we decided to venture out and go out to breakfast. Since I got to sleep in a bit, we didn't get an early enough start so we waited forever for a table and then the service and food weren't that great. But, I did enjoy my time with my family. After breakfast, we went home and I got to curl up in bed and relax and cuddle both of my kids while Joey cleaned the house and cooked. It was wonderful! I even took a short nap.

After my cuddle time,I went on a run that was amazing. After my run, Joey and I set things up for my family to come over. My parents, Grandma, sister, brother-in-law, Ella, and brother all came over for a BBQ. Joey made all the food and it was wonderful as usual. He even made two dairy free desserts for Katy and I to eat. It was delicious! We had professional group pictures taken for my mom's present. She just loved them. Overall it was a great day!

I am such a lucky mom to have such an amazing daughter!

All the excitement of the day really wore Ashlyn out.

My beautiful flowers

The adorable card/poem/picture Ashlyn made me. The school even laminated it so I can cherish it for many years. The butterfly is made out of her handprint.

Dawson cuddling with Daddy.

Dawson and Ella looking adorable as usual.

They are the cutest babies in the world!

They were playing together and we thought it was too cute how they were holding onto each other's arms.

Enjoying the nice weather on the deck.
