Ashlyn at 5

Some how, along the way, Ashlyn grew from the this precious little newborn, into a gorgeous 5 year old!  She has been 5 now for almost a month.  I have really been putting off writing this post. Not because I haven't wanted to write it, but mainly because I knew the frustration I would experience when trying to put into words how amazing my daughter really is.  There are not enough words to describe her awesomeness, but I am going to attempt.
Ashlyn is truly the most amazing child a mother could ever ask for.  She is everything I dreamed of and more for in a daughter.  She is unbelievably sweet and caring.  She loves everyone and tells me multiple times a day how much she loves me.  She is such a good big sister and is always doing nice things for Dawson.  She is a wonderful big cousin too.  She will give Ella some of her favorite toys so she can have them and play with them.  How many kids do that without be prompted to at all?  She loves her Jameson to death and is so sweet with him.  Dawson, Ella, and Jameson are all very lucky to have Ashlyn looking out for them.
Ashlyn is a very, very smart little girl.  She loves learning and is constantly telling us different facts and things she has learned.  She excels in preschool and her teacher has told us she is amazed by how much she knows.  She reads well, does math, and blows me away daily by what she knows.  She also is doing great socially at school.  She has made many close friends and gets along very well with her peers. That girl is going places.
At 5 years old Ashlyn has become more passionate about things. She continues to love animals.  She is currently obsessed with the Littlest Pet Shop toys.  She has a ton and loves playing with them.  She takes a different one each week to school for show and tell.  She also loves playing her computer and has gotten so good at using the mouse and navigating through the kids websites to play games.  You can show her or tell her something once and she will know it from then on.  She is a little artist and loves to draw, color, and create.  She and I often do crafts together and I cherish those memories of the two of us making things together.  She is a good artist and loves drawing mermaids.
Ashlyn is very well behaved.  I am so lucky to have such a good child.  She does have her moments occasionally when she doesn't want to listen, but those have become very few and far between.  If she is asked to do something, she always complies.  She is always doing what she is asked to do.  She loves helping me and does sweet things like making my bed for me.  She simply just listens and does what she is told to do.  As I teacher, I know how rare that it is and I appreciate it immensely!
I love my beautiful daughter more than words could ever begin to describe.  She is such a gift from God.  I will never stop thanking God for giving me such an amazing gift.  I could not ask for a better daughter and she has touched all of our lives in such a wonderful way.  I have loved watching her grow.  She is so beautiful inside and out and I know God has great plans for our little angel.
