Field Day

Ashlyn's field day at school was this past Monday.  Joey volunteered to help out.  Graceyn and I came along to watch our girl have a day full of fun with her classmates.  Every school does their field day differently, and I was interested to see how her school did their field day.  They basically had a ton of different stations set up all over outside.  Joey and I were given a group of 6 kids to take around to the different stations.  Ashlyn had so much fun trying out all the different things.  Joey and I had so much fun watching her.  They really had some different and neat activities for the kids.  The best part was that after it was done, Joey and I got to stay and eat lunch with Ashlyn.  That was a neat experience.  Joey has eaten with her this year, but I hadn't and I'm glad I got the chance.  Here are the pictures from her fun day. I think the pictures do a good job of showing all the fun events she got to do.

At this station they had to hold a cup of water while jumping rope.  Despite it being June 2nd, it was still a chilly morning and luckily she didn't get too wet!

At this station, they had to see who could kick their shoes the farthest.

The shoes.  Ashlyn's is in the middle.

At this station, they had to pick up marbles from a pool with their feet.  Ashlyn got the hang of it right away and did a great job.

This was the face painting station which was probably the most popular.

The face painters were 5th graders, so this was the end result.

This was a take on a javelin throw.  It was a tricky one for them.  As you can kind of see in the background, the boys used theirs as swords.

She missed the target.

Having fun

At one station they had to run a lap around the park.

Getting ready to do the high jumpy.

There she goes

This one was really fun.  They had to transfer water from one bucket to another using a pipe with holes in it.

What great teamwork!!!

These were balls they got to jump on.  It looked like so much fun!

Ashlyn bouncing away.

There were also sack races too.

Tug o war

Let's see who is stronger!

This one was a dizzy bat spin

They really enjoyed the parachute

This one was a chicken toss

The girls got a little upset that the boys beat them

What a throw!

More tug o war.  This one was funny because her group actually beat a group of first graders.
