Ashlyn continues to love the piano. She is doing very well. Her teacher is impressed with how quickly she is learning and picking it up. She looks forward to her lessons each week.
I have to brag for a minute. Ashlyn is doing so good with her reading. She loves to read just like I do. I have to tell her to stop reading every night so she can get some sleep. They recently did a midyear reading test. I was very anxious to get her results because I am very familiar with this test since I have given it for years. She had to read for one minute and they count how many words they can accurately read in a minute. To be considered at grade level, mid year they need to be able to read 20 words per minute, and 40 words by the end of the year. My little smart girl read 146 words in one minute!!! I'm so impressed with her. Since she is such a good reader, she has been placed into Gifted and Talented. She will go to gifted and talented during reading time. She is excited to be challenged a bit more. I'm excited for her to be challenged more as well to how she continues to grow and excel in school. I am so proud of her and just had to brag for a minute!
Gracie is getting so close to walking! She is standing so well on her own and every day she gets more and more brave. She is doing a lot of walking between furniture. She is such a funny girl and always seemingly does things overnight, so I am fully expecting her to just start walking one day. I know it is very, very close.

Ashlyn continues to be quite the artist and wanted me to take a picture of the drawing she did on her whiteboard so it would be saved forever. |
