Dawson at 4
I just can't believe that our sweet, sweet little boy is already 4 years old. It seems like just yesterday I was looking at his beautiful face for the first time. Like I mentioned in Ashlyn's 7 year post, as they get older these posts get harder and harder to write. How do I put on paper how incredible they are? How can I convey how much I love them and all the happiness they bring me each and every minute? I simply can't, so I will do my best.
Dawson has done so much growing this year. He has really gone from a toddler to a little boy. He is changing so much every day it seems.
Dawson continues to be the sweetest boy in the whole world. He is such a mama's boy and loves to cuddle with me. He never hesitates to give me a hug or kiss when I ask for one. He will literally drop whatever he is playing with to run over and give me a kiss. He is so sweet to his sisters and his cousins. He will share his toys with Jameson to cheer him up. He is such a kind, and gentle soul. He really is the nicest boy.
Dawson continues to be a total boy. He is into anything that boys love. He still likes Thomas the Train, but his newest obsession is Transformers. He loves Transformers and can't get enough of them. He has a ton of them and loves to play with them. He also plays that he is a Transformer. Dawson has an incredible imagination and he is so good at make believe play. He can entertain himself for hours with some blocks that click together. I know for sure that he is going to grow up to do something that involves building or putting things together. I'm thinking maybe an engineer. He is just so analytical and logical. Dawson also loves his cousin Jamesom so much. They love to play together and can not get enough of one another. My sister and I laugh all the time because the boys will be in one room playing wrestling or swords and the girls will be in the next room quietly playing dolls or house. They are quite the pair!
Dawson is one smart cookie just like his big sister. We work on his skills every day and he is just a smart boy. He loves to do his workbook and I'm always quite impressed with how much he knows. He reminds me a lot of Ashlyn and gets things so quickly. He won't start school for another year and a half and I know that he will be more than ready for kindergarten. He continues to go to preschool twice a week . They are working on reading and Dawson is picking it up really well. I know he's going to be reading up a storm before we know it. His teacher always has wonderful things to say about Dawson and says he is doing so well.
I took Dawson to the doctor last week for his 4 year well check-up. He now weighs 34.3 pounds (35%) and is 39.5 inches (32%). He gained 3 pounds and grew 2 inches in a year! He is definitely doing a lot of growing. He is still our skinny and short boy. I am just waiting for him to shoot up in height. He also did his vision and hearing test and he passed both. His doctor was very impressed with how well he talked to her. She said most 4 year olds clam up during their visit. She said he looks just great.
Dawson is such a complete joy in our lives. Everyday with him is so much fun and there is never a dull moment with him around. He has become so funny and witty. We are constantly laughing at the things he says. He picks up stuff now that just amazes me. He fills our hearts with love and we are so very blessed to have such an amazing boy to raise and love. He is our world and we love him to the moon and back!!!
