Thursday was definitely the best day of our trip hands down. It was super special for many reasons. First, it was Joey's birthday which made it that much more special. Second, we got an incredible Disney surprise that was beyond magical (more about that later) Third, we got to go to a super special party.
We started our day bright and early like usual. Our hotel was within walking distance to Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, it is not nearly as close as Epcot, but who doesn't want to start the day with a mile walk in the warm Florida sun?
As soon as we got to the park, we headed straight to the sign ups for Jedi Training Academy. This year everyone but Gracie was old enough, and they were dying to do it. They have changed the process it a bit, and now you can pick your show time. We picked the 3:15 show because my thorough research recommended an afternoon time.
After we were all signed up, we headed for Toy Story. Everyone can ride that ride and it is so much fun. They added an additional track, and since it was not crowded, we got to ride twice in a row. Such a fun ride!
After we Toy Story, we headed for some thrill rides. We rode Rock and Roll roller coaster first. I love that roller coaster. Unfortunately, since it goes upside down, Ashlyn was the only kid tall enough to ride. She loved it though and it such a brave girl!

Love that smile

After we rode Rock and Roller Coaster, we headed over for the Tower of Terror. Everyone but Gracie was tall enough to ride. It can be a pretty scary ride, and I was a little concerned how the kids would handle it. Jameson did not like it at all. Ella and Dawson surprisingly really liked it and were brave little cookies!
|
Here we are. As you can see I was very concerned with how Dawson was doing. You can't really see Ella or Dawson in the back row. |
|
We even rode a second time, but because the row in front of us had their hands up, we are invisible. |
Next we headed over to Star Tours which is the Star Wars ride. Again, all the kids besides Gracie could finally ride it. It is a motion simulator ride and it's pretty neat because there are 50 different versions of the movie you watch, so it is never the same ride twice. The kids all really liked it.

After riding a lot of rides, it was time for lunch. Every since I was little, we have always eaten at 50s Prime Time Cafe. The food is great, the decor is so cool, and the wait staff is very entertaining. It was the perfect place for a birthday lunch for Joey. The portions there are huge, so we all left very full and ready for some more fun.

You play different shooting games throughout the ride and you get to compete against the person riding with you. We always have a competition who can get the highest score. I think my brother won this year. |
|
This is when I rode with Gracie. I am surprised she even got 1,300 points. |
|
When we got off, Ella made friends with a green Army man and they held hands for a bit |
