Emersyn at Home

Emersyn is adjusting to life at home quite well.  Good thing she is used to hearing a lot of noise in the womb, because there is always a lot of action going on around this house!  For now, she is able to sleep with a ton of noise around her.
She has done a lot of sleeping.  The first week she was home, she literally slept all day and all night.  We hardly ever saw her awake.  She would wake up to eat, then right back out.  In this last week, she has started to be awake for longer periods during the day.
She is still a pretty chill and content little girl.  She likes to just lay there and look around.  She is a big fan of pacifiers and is happy as a little clam to just suck away on her pacifier while looking around.
The first week she was home, she was sleeping 3-4 hour stretches at night.  I was literally amazed because her siblings did not sleep that long until they were much older.  This last week, she is sleeping only 2-3 hour stretches.  I am thinking she may be going through a growth spurt.  I had forgotten how brutal newborn sleep deprivation can be!  Joey helps out a lot and takes her at night so I can get some good sleep, but I still have to feed her frequently.  I know this will be short lived, so I am just taking it day by day.
Despite the lack of sleep, the newborn stage is one of my favorites.  I just love how cuddly they are.  I try to hold and cuddle Emersyn every chance I get.  I know how short this stage will be.  I feel guilty when I can't hold her and have to get things done.  I am trying to find a good balance.  For now, I am not too concerned with doing things around the house when I have this sweet little girl to love and cherish!  Here are some pictures from our first two weeks at home.
