Emersyn Reagan DeLorme

Despite all my best efforts to go into labor on my own, it jus wasn't in the cards for me.  Since I am considered to be high risk due to my age, my doctor didn't want me to go until my due date.  Older moms are at a higher risk for stillbirths, so it was a risk I wasn't willing to take.  We went ahead and scheduled an induction for Monday, December 18th.  It was kind of nice having a planned date because it allowed us to set up childcare for the rest of the kids.
Joey and I arrived at the hospital at 7:00 a.m. the day of my induction.  I was incredibly nervous because my induction with Graceyn did not go well at all.  My epidural failed and I felt everything and was in the worst pain of my life.  When I met my nurse, I explained to her my concerns and she assured me that that wasn't going to happen this time.  I was still very nervous though.
When I came in I was 3 1/2 centimeters dilated.  They started the Pitocin to get the contractions going around 7:30 a.m.  I wasn't feeling much pain at all.  At 8:30 a.m. the doctor came in and broke my water.  I told her that last time my water was broken I progressed very quickly.  After she broke my water, I started to feel some very intense contractions.  I decided to get my epidural right away because the doctor and nurse kept telling me I was going to progress very quickly.
The epidural went so smoothly.  The doctor was awesome and did such a good job of placing it this time.  I felt immediate relief and i was so glad it worked this time!  Around 9:30 a.m., the nurse checked me and I was now 5 centimeters dilated.  We decided to put on some Mumford and Sons and try to relax and wait.  I started to feel some pain on my left side and I became quite uncomfortable.  I was shaking really badly and could hardly speak during each contraction.  At 10:30 a.m. I told my sister to go get the nurse because the pain was really bad.  The nurse came in and checked me and announced I was ready to push!  I could not believe that after only 3 hours, it was time to meet this little girl!
The doctor came in around 10:40 a.m., I pushed for a couple of contractions and our beautiful third daughter came into the world at 10:56 a.m.  She was just perfect and beautiful and I could not believe she was here!  She is very healthy and just perfect.  She is such an amazing addition to complete our family.  She was by far my easiest labor and I can not believe from start to finish it only lasted 3 1/2 hours!  It was such a good experience.
She was so calm and just looked around when she was first born.  We decided to stay two days at the hospital because with three kids at home, I wanted some quite time to focus just on the baby.
The kids were able to come and meet her that afternoon, and the immediately fell in love with her.  They all fought over holding her, and she got lots of love.
We had absolutely no clue about a name.  We never even discussed it because Joey and I couldn't agree.   I knew we would have to come up with a name at the hospital.  We decided to compromise.  We went with Emersyn because we felt it went really well with the other kids names.  I love the nickname Emmy for her.  Joey really wanted the name Reagan and I was not a fan.  I compromised and we decided to use it for her middle name.
Our time at the hospital was great and we spent all of our time holding and loving our newest little princess.  She is a very mellow and calm child.  She hardly ever cries unless she is hungry or has a dirty diaper. At the hospital, if she was awake in her bassinet, she would just lay there and look around.  I guess she has a lot to take in.  She nurses like a champ and is gaining weight just as she should be.  She makes being a mom of a newborn again very easy!
I can't  express how blessed I feel to finally have our daughter here and healthy.  We are so beyond blessed to have four amazing children.  I so look forward to our journey as her parents.  She is one incredible little girl already!

I'm obsessed with buying her little sister clothing

Wearing her going home outfit.  Ashlyn, Ella, and Gracie all wore this same outfit.  My  two tutoring students gave me the adorable booties and they were perfect to her.

All ready to go home!
