Emmy's Birthday

We kept things pretty low key for Emmy's actual birthday.  The elves came and brought treats in the morning.  It was on a school day, so I had to work and the rest of the kids had school.  So, it was just Emmy and Joey for the morning of her birthday.
Emmy developed this large bump on her lower lip months ago.  The dentist said it was a blocked saliva gland.  The dentist had been monitoring it for months and we hoped it would go away.  It didn't go away and just seemed to get bigger.  Joey and I decided it was time to have it removed.  They scheduled the appointment for her birthday.  Joey said she did really, really well and was super brave.  The lasered off the ugly bump, and they were on their way.  Unfortunately, her lip did swell up a bit, so she looks a little funny in her pictures.  She didn't seem to be in pain and was her happy, cheerful self all day.
After the dental procedure, Joey took Emmy to see Santa as Bass Pro Shops.  Emmy really has a thing for Santa, and she was super excited to meet him. She loved it!
I came home from work around noon and we spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out and Emmy took a nap.  For her dinner, Joey made his special homemade macaroni and cheese since it is one of her favorites.  After dinner, my family came over for cake and presents. She got such a kick out of all the balloons every where.  She finally understands how to open presents and loved getting to open lots of presents.  After presents, we had cake and she seemed to enjoy it.  I think it was the perfect low-key birthday for our precious little girl.
