Texas Trip

I have not blogged for a while because we were out of town. My Dad, Mom, Grandma, Ashlyn, and I drove to Texas. We went down there so Ashlyn could see her Uncle Adam and Jane. It was a very long drive and a little hard on Ashlyn. She is just at that age where she no longer sleeps the entire time. She did not enjoy being in her car seat for that long. It will be her last road trip for a long time! We did break up the trip into two days each way so it was a little less hard on her.

We left on Wednesday afternoon and arrived in Texas on Thursday afternoon. We went out to dinner with Adam Thursday night. It was nice for Ashlyn to see him since she hasn't seen him since Christmas. On Friday we headed to Canton for the trade days. It was so much fun! We shopped till we dropped! Ashlyn was in her carrier and she got to walk with me and look around. She loved it! There was so much to look at! Adam and Jane met us there so we spent the day with them as well. When we were done at Canton we went to Adam and Jane's for dinner. It was great food!

On Saturday we went back to Canton in the morning for a little more shopping. Ashlyn had so much fun again! We stayed a few hours and then met Adam and Jane for lunch. After lunch we hit the road to go home. We hit some pretty bad weather near Limon yesterday. Other than that the trip was pretty good. Ashlyn was pretty fussy but we just stopped a lot so she could get out of her car seat. We had a wonderful trip. It was a lot of driving for such a short stay, but it was great getting to see Adam and Jane. Joey could not come because he is still in training for his new job. We want to go out there again soon when Joey can make it. Next time we will fly!

Dinner with Grandpa

Last Sunday Joey's Dad and family came down. Joey made everyone dinner and it was very good as usual. Ashlyn just loves seeing everyone. Joey's Dad and wife have horses and we always say that they will have to buy Ashlyn her own horse one day. I found her a onesie that said that "Someday I will demand a pony". I think that everyone got a kick out of it.

Ashlyn loves her Grandpa so much!

Her shirt, it's kind of hard to read.

New Pictures

Ashlyn rolled over for the first time Thursday night. I think it was more of a fluke thing but she did it several times. I was getting ready to put her in the bath. I had her laying on the bathroom floor on a folded towel. I went to grab something and I came back and she was on her stomach. She did it several more times. We were able to get it on camera. She has not done it since but she is always rolling over on her side. I think it is just a matter of time before she does it consistently. She will definitely roll over from back to stomach first. She hates tummy time. When we lay her down on her stomach she just puts her head to the side and lays there. We are working on making her hold her head up more on her stomach. She does have great head control and strength when she is sitting up and being held so I am not concerned.
Ashlyn also started to grab for her toys on Thursday. She has this play gym that she lays under and plays with. She has played with it since she was a newborn. Forever she would just look at the animals swing back and forth. The other day I was in the kitchen cooking and I looked over and she was grabbing the toys like crazy. It was too cute! She does it all the time now. She is becoming lots more active with her toys.
She continues to sleep longer stretches. She still wakes up at least once to eat. She has good nights and bad nights. She is still smiling like crazy. I swear everyday she does something new or has a new facial expression. I love her more than I ever thought possible!

Her new "hat"

3 Months!!!

Sorry I have not updated in a while. These last few weeks have been quite hectic! Ashlyn had her first babysitters on Friday. My entire family went up to Denver for a concert. Since the whole family went my regular babysitters were not available. My friends Bri and Tricia watched her while we were gone. They said she did wonderful and was a perfect angel! It is so great to have friends that I can trust and know will do a great job! Thanks again guys!
I have started substitute teaching. I like it but it just means more time away from my baby which I do not like at all! At least I only have to do it part time for now!
I can not believe that Ashlyn is already 3 months!!! I know that I say that every time but it is amazing how fast they grow! We are enjoying every minute of her but the time is still going by way too fast! She is changing so much. Her hair is still crazy but it is thining out a bit and definitely getting lighter. There is not 3 month appointment so I don't know how much she weighs. I would guess she has gained a pound or two in the last month.
She is such a smiler. She smiles non-stop. She also loves to "talk". She will just talk and talk to anyone as long as they talk back. She is sleeping longer at night. She usually wakes up one time to eat during the night. She is also going about four hours or so between feedings during the day. She is really starting to enjoy her toys more and more. She loves playing with her activity mat. She also loves her glowworm. She loves staring at his glowing face. She is also becoming more indepedent and will just play on her own for several minutes. She is getting really close to rolling over. I will definitely post when that one happens! She is still such a sweet and precious girl.
