Week at the Cabin

A few days after we got home from Texas, we headed up to the cabin for our annual week long trip.  We look forward to this trip every year because it is such a laid back and relaxing vacation.  We pretty much just go with the flow and see what fun and new things we can discover.  We also love getting to spend a full week at the cabin.
This year was incredible!  We had so much fun each and every day.  The kids loved getting to spend so much time with their cousins.  We ate at new restaurants, played in the river, went to parks, and even made our yearly trip to the toy store.
As usual, our week went by way too quick.  I always say our trips to the cabin are never long enough.  I think next summer we may have to do two weeks.  We just have such a nice time.  Here are the pictures from our week.  We did also go to the hot springs and had such a fun time on the waterslide there.  I didn't get any pictures because I did not want to bring the camera in and risk it getting wet.

The kids loved playing in the sand

What a beautiful sight

Ashlyn is growing up way too fast.

Wading in the river.  When the kids get older, we want to tube down it.

We ate lunch at a really good restaurant that was right on the river's edge.

One of our ice cream stops.  Totally hit the spot!

Time to pick out a toy

So many choices!

This is the stream/river right by the cabin.  The kids love playing in the sand and water.  It's like one gigantic sand and water table for them.

It did rain some, so luckily we had some indoor activities lined up

We played this jelly bean game where you have to pick a jelly bean and it can either be a normal flavor, or a really gross flavor

I must have gotten a bad one

Trip to Texas

On June 17th, our family grew!  Uncle Adam and Aunt Jane welcomed two precious twin boys, Owen and Blaine into this world!  We have all been super excited for the twins to get here.  Ashlyn has been the most excited.  We could not wait to get down to Texas to meet our newest family members.
In mid-July we took a road trip to Texas.  Papa DeLorme came along to meet his two newest grandsons.  Texas heat in the summer is no joke, but we were willing to endure it to meet the twins.  They were only 3 weeks old at the time of our visit.  Such a great age because they are so cuddly.  The best part is that there are two of them, so there were plenty of babies to go around!  We were just smitten with the boys from the second we saw them.  Ashlyn never wanted to put them down.  She was always holding and cuddling a baby.  We spent most of our visit at Adam and Jane's house cuddling and bonding with Owen and Blaine.
It was a great trip and we all so enjoyed meeting our newest family members.  We were very sad to have to say goodbye to Owen and Blaine.  We know they will be much bigger by our next visit, but I am so thankful that we were able to get out to Texas for lots of newborn cuddles!

We left for Texas right after Dawson's teeball game.  Here he is up to bat.

She was so happy to finally get to hold Owen and Blaine

Auntie sure does love her newest nephews.  This is Owen I am holding.

Gracie loved the babies, but she is still a little too young to hold them.  She spent most of her time playing with their great boxer, Kona
