North Pole

Once the kids went back to school, my mom and I decided to take the girls to the North Pole.  Dawson and Ashlyn are just getting a little to big for the North Pole, so we decided to wait until they were back in school when it is less crowded.  We picked a perfect day to go.  The weather was very warm and it was not crowded at all.  Gracie had a blast riding all the rides.  I think she rode almost every ride once.  Emmy even got to go on a few.  She loves the carousel. We had a really fun time.

Emmy was not afraid of Santa at all.  I was surprised!

First Day of School

Not sure how in the world we now have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader???? Ashlyn is so very excited to be back at her old school again.  She has her first male teacher which she is also happy about.  The best part is her best friend, Luci, is in her class.  I know she is going to have a great final year in elementary school.

Beautiful girl looking so grown up!

Dawson is now a second grader.  His teacher seems very nice and Ella is in his class again this year.  I know he is going to have a great year and will do great as a second grader!

End of Summer Fun

We ende our summer with a few final trips to the cabin and lots of pool time.  We will miss both immensely during the long, cold winter months.  We had a great time at the cabin this summer and we loved getting to introduce Emmy to the cabin.  Like all her siblings, she was a big fan and I see her making lots of memories there.

Emmy at 8 Months

I must admit that I am super late writing this post.  As I type this, Emmy just turned 9 months!  I will do my best to remember what she was doing at 8 months.  I plan on doing a big 9 month post in the next week or so.
The biggest change for Emmy at 8 months is her mobility!  She is crawling like crazy and is very fast!  She has also mastered standing and pulling herself up.  She will stand and lean against almost anything.  I think she is going to start moving along furniture very, very soon.  The last few days she has even started to hold on with only one hand.  Her mobility has been a challenge.  It is hard for me to get anything done because I have to constantly look to see what she is doing.  That girl can get into mischief in a matter of seconds!  Her favorites are pulling out all of the cookbooks in the dining room and finding shoes.  Today she pulled open all the drawers in the China cabinet.  She is a fast one!
Emmy continues to be a champion eater and she loves to feed herself.  She really doesn't care for purees much anymore. She would much rather feed herself.  We eat almost all of our meals at the table as a family, so I think she likes feeling like she is one of us.  I usually am able to just cut up what we are eating into tiny pieces and she goes to town.  She is very messy, but she does a great job feeding herself.  She can eat a lot of food!  She sure likes to eat!!!
Emmy continues to be just the sweetest girl in the world.  She has such a fan club with her siblings and cousins.  They constantly fight over her.  Once a day, one of the kids will tell me how much they love Emmy.  I agree, she is pretty great and such a happy and sweet little girl!!!

Our monthly shoots are getting very hard because she does not want to sit still and wants to grab the sign, etc

This picture truly captures her happiness
