Last Cabin Trip of 2020

   Sadly, we can no longe deny that the weather is cooling down, and our cabin time is over for the summer.  We took our final trip the weekend of September 26th.  We usually don't go so late in the fall, but we went up for a very special reason.  Katy and I have been saying for years that we want to have professional pictures taken at the cabin.  I finally got proactive and reached out to our beloved photographer, Shannon, and she agreed to travel up there to take our pictures.  The weekend we picked turned out to be just gorgeous.  The leaves were all turning and it was just perfect for pictures.  The wind was a bit bad during pictures, but we made it work.  Shannon is amazing and got some great shots which is not easy to do with as many of us as there were!  It was sad leaving on Sunday knowing that we won't be back for a long time.  We spent so much time up there this summer and we are already looking for to next summer!  

Emmy's First Day of Preschool

    We were so happy to discover that the preschool that Gracie went to is offering a program this year for 2 1/2 year olds. We just love this preschool and Emmy really could benefit from some socialization with other kids her age.  I was a little nervous how she would do away from Joey and I because she has never been away from us.  We talked a lot about school before it happened and she was excited.  She was the most excited to get to carry her own backpack and have a lunch.  She goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00.  It's the perfect amount of time for her and it allows Joey the time to get some things done without a toddler in tow.  

  We got to go in the week before and meet her teachers.  She seemed right at home and had a great time checking out the toys while Joey and I chatted with her teachers.  I loved her teachers and I feel like she will be in terrific hands.  

  Joey and I both dropped her off the first day.  She went in like a champ and didn't even notice that we were leaving her.  When Joey picked her up, she was happy as could be and said she had a good day.  She just loves going to school and loves her teachers and her little friends.  I doubt she will be able to attend all year because of Covid, but for now we are so thankful she is thriving and learning at preschool while she can.

Evening Walks

  We are so lucky that not only did they build a brand new middle school practically across the street, but they also built a really nice track.  The weather has been gorgeous at night.  My friend Lynn and I have been walking the traffic several nights a week.  The kids like to come along and play while we walk.  It's a win win for everyone.  Here are some pics!

Labor Day weekend

  Last Labor Day weekend, we didn't go to the cabin and instead went and saw the balloons.  We had such a great time and decided we wanted to do it every year.  Well, we will have to wait because of Covid, the balloons didn't happen this year.  They launched them from different spots around town.  We were loading up to head to the cabin Saturday morning, and we saw this one.  This was as close we got to the balloons this year.  Hopefully next year will be different.

   We spent a lovely weekend at the cabin for Labor Day.  The weather was just gorgeous and we took full advantage.  The neighbors were there with their kids and all of the kids played in the water all day.  They were having such a fun time I couldn't even get them to come back to the cabin for lunch. It was a nice relaxing weekend that was much needed!
