Our little girl is growing up way too fast!!! |
We had a first in our house this week, the first visit from the Tooth Fairy!!!! As I mentioned in a previous post, Ashlyn had a wiggly tooth for weeks. It was so loose and ready to fall out, but she wasn't wiggling it very often. I kept asking her if I could check to see how loose it was, but she wouldn't let me near it. It was becoming kind of a pain because she couldn't eat a lot of foods.
On Friday, Joey went to pick her up from school. Ashlyn came out to the car where I was waiting with Dawson, with a big envelope and a huge smile on her face. Joey said she wouldn't tell him what was in the envelope until she got to the car. She finally told us that she lost her tooth! I immediately asked her how it happened. She said her teacher just reached in her mouth and pulled it out (that's how loose it was). She was beyond excited for first visit from the Tooth Fairy. At bedtime we found a special box to put her tooth in and she put it under her pillow. She fell asleep very quickly because we reminded her the Tooth Fairy wouldn't come if she was awake.
Ashlyn woke up bright and early on Saturday morning. It was like Christmas to her. She came running into our room to show us what the tooth fairy left her. She first had a little note typed in very tiny writing. The note was from the Tooth Fairy and explained that she took the teeth and put them in the sky as stars. Ashlyn thought that was the coolest thing she had ever heard. She left her some gold $1 coins and fairy dust all over her pillow. We also found fairy dust by the window and on her night stand. Ashlyn thought the fairy dust was so magical and refused to let me wash her sheets that day. She had to show everyone who came over the special fairy dust. She told us it was the best day ever!
I can't believe my baby is already big enough to be losing teeth. It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with her. They grow up way too fast. Joey and I are definitely enjoying the journey and every milestone along the way.
