First Day of School

The first day of school was a very big deal this year for our family.  Both Dawson and Ella started kindergarten.  Ashlyn started the 3rd grade.  I can not believe we now have two school aged children.
Dawson was pretty excited to start school.  I think that he was ready to learn and interact with new kids.  We requested that Ella and Dawson be placed in the same class.  We were so excited to discover not only were they in the same class, but they also got the same teacher Ashlyn had for kindergarten that we absolutely loved.
My sister and I were such a mess the first day of school.  Leaving our babies behind was very difficult.  Ella and Dawson were brave and they were more than ready to embark on their adventure of starting school.  That first day was nerve wracking as we worried all day how they were doing.  They all came bounding out school that day with the biggest smiles on their faces.  The excitedly told us stories from their days and all about the new friends they made.  Dawson said he loved school.  Later that first week, he was laying in bed and asked if tomorrow was a school day, and when I said it was, he said, "Yes!!!"  It was so cute and filled my heart with joy to know he was so happy to go to school and the transition went so smoothly.
School has continued to go so well for all the kids.  I just love their school so much and know they are getting such a good education there.  The kids have already made good friends and are becoming active in their school.  Both Dawson and Ella joined the cross country team and are doing great.   All the kids are learning so much and doing really well.  I am positive this year will be full of learning, growth, and lots of fun.
