I can not believe Ashlyn's first grade year is already over. It flew by with such a quickness! I can't believe she is going to be a second grader next year. Everything is going by way too quickly! We are all very excited to have her home for the summer. We miss her while she's at school. Dawson gets so bored without her here to play with. We have lots of fun things planned for this summer.
This year, Ashlyn's school did things a little differently for the last day. They had their field day on the last day of school. I think this was genius because the last day of school is always such a wash. You really can't do anything, so what a great idea to do field day that day.
Joey volunteered to help out and lead Ashlyn and a group of her classmates around the different stations. They have so many different neat activities for the kids to do. It really is such a fun day. I stopped by for a little bit with Gracie and Dawson and we had fun watching Ashlyn in action. Ashlyn had an absolute blast with her friends. Joey picked her up from school and they stayed and played at the park for hours after school. Since it was her last day, we even let her pick what she wanted for dinner. McDonald's it was.
