Memorial Day & Other Pics

Memorial Day weekend is such a great weekend to kick off summer.  It has been so cold and rainy here in Colorado.  We just broke the record for the wettest month ever.  The weather was still not great for Memorial Day weekend, but we tried to make the best of it.
I was very fortunate this year to get to run the Bolder Boulder.  I just love this race so much and I was so bummed not to be able to do it last year.  The race starts super early in Boulder, so we have to stay the night the night before.  The plan was for Joey to come up with me and his dad was going to watch the kids.  Unfortunately, something came up and he was no longer able to.  Joey, being the awesome supportive husband he is, stayed with the kids so I could go run the race.  I am so lucky to have him!  The race was such a fun time like always and the course was way harder than I remembered, but I survived.  My brother, sister, and several friends ran it and we had a lot of fun.  I am already looking forward to next year, but definitely not to that tough course!
Here are some random pictures we took over the weekend.

Best buds doing their part of be patriotic.

Joey has been drooling over a Traeger smoker for years.  He finally bit the bullet, and bought one.   Its an awesome smoker and makes amazing food.  He made his first brisket for Memorial Day and it was phenomenal.

So happy!

My mom got a kitten this week.  Ashlyn has never been around a kitten before and she is just enamored with her.  She has been begging to go over there every waking second.  She and Charlotte are already best buds.  She is such a cute kitten.

Sometimes they love each other

Gracie loves to do anything her brother and sister do.  She loves to draw and color like they do.  She is already quite the little artist.

Working hard

Part of our daily school work, Dawson works with these pattern blocks.  He is so good at figuring out what shape goes where.  He is so smart!

We love school work time.
