Balloon Fest

Every Labor Day, Colorado Springs has a balloon fest.  In the morning, they do a balloon launch and in the evening, they do a balloon glow.  I went a couple of times as a child and I really enjoyed it.  Joey took Ashlyn once when she was about two years old.  We have never gone again because we avoid crowds like the plague, and it can get very crowded!  We are also usually at the cabin and aren't here to go.  Since we weren't going to be at the cabin, we decided to give it a try thing year.  Ashlyn and Dawson did not have any desire to go, so Joey and I took just the little girls.  We had to wake up really early and left the house around 5:30 a.m.  The girls were really tired, but they were excited to see the balloons.  We got there at the perfect time and parking wasn't bad at all.  We found a good spot and had a great time watching the balloons inflate.  It was really neat to see what shape they became once they were inflated.  The girls just loved it!  We also got to watch them lift off.  We had such a good time!  After the balloons, we went and had breakfast at the Denver Biscuit Company and it was really good.  We had such a good time, that I talked Katy into going back to watch the balloons on Monday with the other kids.  I think we will start making the balloons a yearly tradition if we aren't at the cabin.
