Before I start posting Disney posts, I wanted to post a little bit about the planning that went into our trip. We had such an amazing time on our trip in December '18, my parents wanted to book another trip. We wanted to go back the falling fall. We originally had planned to go in December again, but our Disney agent was able to get us an amazing deal from September 7-14th . The deal was too good to pass up, so we decided we would go in September.
We have been to Disney two times before in September. It is really, really hot, but the crowds are good. Joey has stated several times that he does not ever want to go in September again because of the heat. So, when he heard we were going in September, he immediately decided to not go. After a lot of discussion, we decided that he would stay home with Emmy. Emmy was just not at a good age for Disney. We eat at a lot of sit down restaurants and Emmy does not do well at restaurants. She does not like sitting for any length of time (this is why we never go out to eat). We have also trained Emmy to sleep in her crib a little too well. She loves her bed and sleeps really well in it. However, she does not sleep well anywhere else. After our December trip where Joey spent an hour each night walking Emmy around in the stroller until she fell asleep, we decided it was best if she didn't go. As we got closer to the trip, I still really started regretting my decision and I was really worried about leaving her. She ended up doing just fine and while I wish she was there, I still think we made the right decision.
The best part of going in September and surviving brutal heat, is the low crowds. Star Wars Galaxy was set to open in late October and I figured everyone would plan there visit for after it opened. About a month before our trip, Disney announced that they would be opening Star War's land ahead of schedule on August 28th. This was not the news I wanted to hear. They were expecting really big crowds and I was really worried it would ruin our trip. I talked to our Disney agent and the rest of the family, and we decided that we would just stick with our original plan. If we didn't get to go see the Star Wars Land because of crowds we were okay with that. The good news was that Disney extended all of their park hours and did a lot of early park openings which we took full advantage of. The even better news, is crowds were so much lighter than anticipated and it was not crowded at all. I think it was actually the least crowded it has ever been! The wait times for rides were so ridiculously low. Even the most popular rides hardly had waits. Because of this, we got in a lot more rides than we usually do. We got so lucky. It also only rained briefly two times. We sure lucked out with this trip!
