Disney Day 4

Tuesday was a very, very early day for us.  Hollywood Studios opened at 6:00 a.m.  We have never been to Disney when they have opened so early.  We decided we had to take advantage of it.  We got up at 5:00 a.m. which felt so, so early when we had been going nonstop.  But, we were willing to sacrifice sleep in the name of getting to ride rides.  Everyone came but my brother and Gracie.  Gracie gets tried easily and when she does, she can become quite difficult.  I knew she would not be able to go all day.  She and my brother slept in at the hotel.
The rest of us were up bright and early and were off.  We caught a boat almost immediately over to Hollywood Studios.

Up bright and early and ready to go!

It was not crowded at all

To see it this empty was worth waking up super early for!

We got right in, and headed over to Toy Story Land.  We wanted another chance to ride Slinky Dog.  We loved this ride last trip, but it always has a very long wait.  We got right on and only waited five minutes.

Boarding Slinky Dog

Ready to ride

Weeeeee!

We would have ridden Slinky Dog dash again, but it already had a bit of wait.  We decided to head over to Toy Story Mania which is everyone's favorite.  The lines were so short, we were able to ride two times in a row.  What fun!

By this time, we were hungry, so we stopped at Woody's Lunchbox for breakfast.  They have these special homemade poptarts that are really good.  It was a good breakfast.

Next, we headed over to Tower of Tower.  My mom just loves this ride and it is always a fun one.  The line was so short, that we were able to ride two times in a row!  The boys chose not to ride which was lame!

First time

Second time

By this point, Steven and Gracie has joined us.  We wanted to go ride Rockn Roller Coaster.  My mom, brother, and Gracie decided to go do Tower of Terror again.

The boys were both finally tall enough to ride Rockn Roller Coaster which has the tallest height requirement in all of Disney World.  They got all the way to the front of the line, and both of them chickened out and took the escape exit.  The rest of us rode and had a blast!

Looks like a few people fell asleep

After some thrill rides, we decided to go and ride Toy Story Mania again.  The line was fairly short and we only waited in line for like 20 minutes.

She loves this ride!

Papa and Gracie
Finally, it was time for lunch.  We ate at one of our all time favorite Disney restaurants: 50's Prime Time.  This is the restaurant where the waitstaff acts bossy and its part of the entertainment of restaurant.  We have had some really excellent servers in the past . This time, the waitress was not funny in the least.  She was just downright rude and it definitely was not our best experience.  But, the food was good.
Dawson had a bit of a cold before our trip . During our trip, he was itching like crazy.  Like constantly scratching and itching himself.  I was convinced it was just a viral rash, but we weren't sure.  The itching kept getting worse and worse.  My sister emailed her friend who is a pediatric NP, and she said she had never seen a viral rash like that.  I didn't want him to suffer the rest of the trip, so I decided he needed to see a doctor.  Luckily, I was able to find a doctor that comes to your hotel room.  I contacted him at lunch and he was coming that afternoon.  So after lunch, most of headed back to the hotel to wait on the doctor.  My parents, Steven, and Ashlyn opted to stay at the park.

Riding the boat back to the room

The doctor arrive right at 2:00.  He was really nice and looked at his skin and determined it was a reaction to something.  He suggested that we give him Claritin around the clock and see if that helped.  We started giving him Claritin and it immediately started working.  Once the Claritin would start to wear off, we could tell though.  It did allow him to finally feel somewhat normal and not miserable.  I think that the heat and humidity just really exacerbated things.  The doctor was so convenient.  It did cost a pretty penny, but I still am glad we called him.  I just think we are lucky in all of our trips to Disney this is the only time someone has been sick and needed a doctor.

As soon as the doctor left, we were eager to get back over to the park.  We stopped for a quick group shot on our wait in.

We met everyone at our "spot" in Hollywood Studios where we always sit and relax at when we are there.  We got some really good frozen lemonade.  While we were sitting there, a Disney employee came over and asked if we wanted to play a trivia game.  We all said "Yes".  He asked us three different questions like, "What year did Disney World open"?  I can't remember the other questions, but I know we required a lot of hints because they were hard.  When we were done, he said we got free dessert.  He brought over some cupcakes.  It was a nice little bit of Pixie Dust.

This frozen lemonade really hit the spot!

Our "winnings".  Too bad most of us were too full to really enjoy them.

After our rest, we decided to make our way over to Galaxy's Edge.  I am not the biggest Star Wars fans, so I wasn't really too excited about that aspect, but I was so excited to see a new area of Disney World.  All I can say is "WOW!"  The theming in this are is just absolute incredible! They paid attention to every single little detail.  I truly felt like we were in another land.  We were so lucky that it was not crowded at all and we were able to get some good pictures.  We loved every minute of it!

They had these awesome high powered fans that felt so good!

Once we were able to find it, we rode the new ride Smuggler's Run.  This is not the big attraction ride for Galaxy's Edge.  That ride didn't open until December.  It was still a really fun ride where your team gets to pilot a millennium falcon.  It was really, really fun.  Dawson and Gracie got to be the pilots on our run and they just loved it.  The line was not bad at all for a ride that just opened.  I think we only waited maybe 30 minutes.

On the Millennium Falcon

Gracie was a good pilot!

After our adventure, we had to a little bit of time to kill.  We took in some more sights.

This Star Wars character was walking around and Jameson went right up to her and talked said something to her like he had known her for years.  I don't know what he said to her, but she stopped and talked to them for a good ten minutes.  It was such a neat character interaction.

Galaxy's Edge has a brand new cantina called Oga's.  It is a really small place and it is reservation only.  My Disney travel agent was able to get us reservations and she was so excited that she was able to get them.  I knew my family would not enjoy it too much, but I was excited to check it out.  They limit your time and you are only allowed two drinks because they want to get people in and out of there.  It was such a neat place!  It was very crowded and we weren't given a seat just a corner to stand in.  Gracie, Dawson, and Jameson immediately got really overwhelmed and opted to wait outside with Bryan.  They had a really different drink menu.  Ella and Ashlyn ordered special drinks that had dry ice in them.  They loved Oga's.  We quickly drank our drinks and left.  I would love to come back with a crowd that would appreciate it more.

The girls loved their drinks
After Oga's we decided we needed to get the kids dinner.  Of course, the kids could not all agree on something to eat.  My parents, brother, Dawson, and I decided to check out a new pizza quick service called Rizzo's.  The food was just okay, but it was food.

Ready for pizza

This kid could live off pizza

The rest of the group went back over to Woody's Lunchbox for dinner.  They said the food was okay.

They have a small exhibit called "One Man's Dream" about the creation of Disney parks.  My brother was really wanting to see it, so we quickly went through it.  The kids were a little bored by the whole thing.  I enjoyed it.

By this point, it was getting late and we were all absolutely exhausted from being up so early.  We decided to head back to the hotel.  The line for the boat was really long.  My brother and I decided to walk back with the stroller.  The rest of the family took the boat.  The funniest thing happened.  The walkway back is right next to the water the boats travel on.  My brother and I were determined to beat the boat back because we wanted to prove that walking was faster.  We noticed the boat was starting to catch up, so we started to walk pretty fast.  The captains on the boats noticed and started egging us on.  So, my brother the runner, took off running and started racing the boat.  The entire boat was watching this and cheering him on. That boat didn't stand a chance and my brother beat it.  I was laughing so hard I was nearly crying . It was the funniest thing ever!
We got back to the room around 8:00 p.m.  We had been going for almost 15 hours!  We all slept really, really well that night!  What a fully day packed full of fun!
