Disney Day 2

Magic Kingdom was having an early opening on Sunday.  They were opening at 7:00 a.m.  We really wanted to get there as early as possible.  However, we were all pretty beat from the day before and 7:00 a.m. is really 5:00 a.m. Colorado time, so it was definitely a little hard getting up even though we were in the happiest place on earth.  We managed to get up at 6:00 a.m. and got showered and ready for the day.  We wanted to leave at 6:45, but I think it was more like 7:00 when we headed down to the busses.  We waited a short time, and we were on our way.  Security lines were short and we were on Main Street in no time!

Main Street!

Love the fall decorations

The boys shirts had Mickey dabbing, so they had to show their best dabbing as well

The girls stopped to trade pins.  We got REALLY into pin trading this trip.  It was a lot of fun.

First glimpse of the castle
Of course, when we asked the kids what they wanted to ride first, they said Splash Mountain.  That area of the park wasn't opened yet, so we had to wait a few minutes for it to open.

Before we knew it, we heading towards Splash Mountain.  There was virtually no line, so we had to ride two times in a row.  The kids just loved it and they were all so happy!

Gracie got a Splash Mountain plushie

My mom won't ride Splash Mountain, so we decided to head towards a ride she would ride and we went to the Haunted Mansion.  It was pretty spooktacular!

After the Haunted Mansion, we headed for It's a Small World.  It is such a classic and always a nice little break from the heat!

After some rides, we were ready to eat.  We wanted to eat at Gaston's Tavern because we never eat there and we had heard good things.  They serve huge cinnamon rolls that were really good and devoured very, very quickly!

Since we were in the area, we rode Ariel.  Gracie loves the ride but it kept stopping the entire time which was a little annoying.  We had Fast Passes for Space Mountain so we rode that next.  Gracie had never ridden it before, and she was really excited to ride.  The adults all refer to this ride as "Whiplash Mountain" because it is so, so jerky.  The kids can't seem to get enough of it, so we are always forced to ride it.  Lucky for them, the standby line was really short, so we rode a second time.

After a quick outfit change for the boys (we found so many cute shirts to make them, they had to change outfits sometimes to get all the shirts in), we took another snack break.  We had Mickey pretzels which always taste better.  We then headed over to the People Mover.  Love that ride!

On the People Mover
Next we headed over to the Carousel of Progress.  This is one of everyone's favorites, but my brother really, really likes it.  It's entertaining and always a nice, long break from the heat!

Steven was so happy to finally get to ride his favorite ride

Next, we had fast passes for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  Gracie had never ridden this one either and she was really excited for it.  She had an ear to ear smile and giggled the entire time.  It was such a happy moment to get to ride with her.  I just love how Disney brings out such true happiness.

Ready to ride

She was really excited

After BTMR, we had to make the long journey across the park to ride Seven Dwarf Mine Train.  We had fast passes and got right on the ride.  We love this ride and it is always such a fun one.

After Mine Train, we were ready for a real meal.  We had done a lot snacking, but needed a meal.  We had reservations at Liberty Inn.  We love this restaurant it is always one of our favorite meals we have each trip.  They have the best pot roast and a dessert called sticky toffee cake which is incredible!  It was just as good as it always is, and it was just what we needed.

The best dessert ever!
After eating, the general consensus was that everyone was hot and tired!  We had a late reservation, so it was 4:00 by this time, so we decided to head back to the hotel.  We have discovered with that kind of heat, you can only push it so far.

Group shot on the way out of the park

The Yacht Club has the best pool of any Disney World hotel.  We really wanted to take advantage of it this trip and get some good use of it.  The kids were dying to go for a swim.  So, we took them for a swim.  The water was just what they needed!

My mom and I really wanted to get to Disney Springs for some shopping that you can't do anywhere else.  We wanted to make sure that we were able to go there at least once during our trip.  Katy and Bryan agreed to watch my kids while my mom, Ashlyn, and me went.  We took an Uber, which was my mom's first time in an Uber.  She was a little nervous and it was an interesting experience to say the least!  We finally got there, did some shopping, and ate dinner at the Chicken Guy.  We headed back to the hotel and we all got ready for bed.  It was a great first full day!
